Henderson, NV – April 23, 2025 – Following a mixed bag of results to start the 2025 season, your Vegas Knight Hawks (1-2) are gearing up for a Week 5 showdown on the road against the San Antonio Gunslingers (1-3) at the Freeman Coliseum on Saturday, April 26th. The memory of their decisive 66-44 thrashing of the Gunslingers on April 12th, 2024, still lingers, a dominant performance that saw quarterback Ja’Rome Johnson lead a potent offensive attack.
That prior matchup at the Lee’s Family Forum was a clinic for the Knight Hawks’ offense. Johnson was unstoppable, finding the endzone three times on the ground. Caleb Holley also punched in a rushing touchdown, while CJ Windham and Antoni Wimbush contributed through the air. Even kicker Kevin Macias added a rouge to the scoreboard. While the offense was firing on all cylinders, the Knight Hawks’ defense held firm, preventing the Gunslingers from mounting a serious comeback. The scoreboard told the tale of dominance, with the Knight Hawks establishing an early lead and maintaining control throughout all four quarters.
However, as the calendar turns to 2025, both teams find themselves in different positions. The Knight Hawks opened their campaign with a thrilling 48-41 road win against the San Diego Strike Force but stumbled in their subsequent away game against the Jacksonville Sharks (19-36) and their recent home contest against the Strike Force (27-35). Head Coach [Insert Coach’s Name Here if Available, otherwise leave blank] will be emphasizing consistency on both sides of the ball as the team looks to reignite their winning momentum and prove their road resilience after the Jacksonville loss.
Meanwhile, the San Antonio Gunslingers have had a rocky start. After dropping their home opener to Tulsa (20-28) and falling on the road to Bay Area (21-28), they showcased their offensive capabilities with a high-scoring 63-55 victory in Arizona. However, they couldn’t maintain that momentum, falling to Tulsa again on the road (31-45) in Week 4. Coach [Insert Gunslingers Coach’s Name Here if Available, otherwise leave blank] will be looking for his squad to find more stability, especially playing in front of their home crowd, and avenge last year’s lopsided defeat at the hands of the Knight Hawks.
While the Knight Hawks’ dominant victory last season provides a psychological edge and a reminder of their offensive potential, this Week 5 matchup promises to be a different battle. Both teams are navigating the ebbs and flows of a new season, and each is desperate for a win to solidify their footing in the standings. Can the Knight Hawks channel the offensive firepower of their previous encounter, led by a potentially resurgent Ja’Rome Johnson, or will the Gunslingers defend their home turf and prove they’ve learned from their past encounter?
All eyes will be on the Freeman Coliseum this Saturday as the Knight Hawks aim to soar to another victory over the San Antonio Gunslingers and get their 2025 season back on track! Knight Up!
