Las Vegas Lights FC defeats Orange County SC

Saturday, June 11th – Las Vegas (RNE) – Amongst the fireworks and rowdy crowd at Cashman Field the Las Vegas Lights shut out the Orange County SC three to nothing on Saturday night.

The game started out a bit rocky with Orange County playing deep into the Lights end of the field and with Daniel Christomo Lights midfielder receiving a yellow card early in the game. Things quickly turned around as Orange County defender Albi Skendi deflected a Las Vegas lights shot into his own goal to put the Las Vegas lights up one goal at the 21 minute mark. The rest of the first half saw Orange County again playing deep into Las Vegas Lights territory with nothing to show for it as the halftime as the whistle blew.

As the second half began, the game ended up a little rough and Orange County midfielder Milan Iloski received a yellow card on a hard hit that put the Lights player on the ground writhing in pain. Las Vegas then became more aggressive and five minutes later Danny Trejo, Las Vegas Lights striker, scored a goal at the 64 minute mark.

The Lights with a two goal lead went into protect mode the rest of the second half. When suddenly Lights player Cal Jennings made a run towards the Orange County goal and was taken down in the box by a defender giving Las Vegas a penalty kick. Jennings easily crushed the ball past the goalie to put Las Vegas up 3-0 at the 86 minute mark and icing the game.

After the game the crowd stayed for a wild fireworks show and left the stadium happy, singing and chanting. Celebrating the Las Vegas lights win. Next game for Las Vegas will be Sunday, June 19th at 3:00pm at Cashman Field.
